One of the many reasons I love Easter is because it is a reminder of God’s inherent goodness.
So often though, we question His goodness when things in our lives don’t quite turn out like we think they will. However, His goodness is not up for debate.
God’s goodness has everything to do with His character and nothing to do with our earthly circumstances.
I get that this is a difficult truth to grasp especially knowing that while life is amazing, it can also be hard, unfair and often full of disappointment. I think Jesus knew this would be a struggle for us. Which is why just before He left this world, He reminded His disciples…
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33
So if that is where you are this Easter season (or maybe you just need a general reminder), here is the truth of why God is still GOOD…even in the midst your current circumstance.
He gives us His best.
…even if it means He has to endure the worst. Matthew 27:27-50
He chooses us.
…even when He knows we won’t choose Him. Mark 14:31-33
He prioritizes our needs.
…even before His own. Mark 14:35-36
He loves us.
…even when we are unlovable. Luke 23:34
He forgives us.
…even when we don’t deserve it. Luke 23:39-43
He gives us life.
…to places emptiness and even death. Matthew 28:5-7
He still shows up.
…even when we doubt. John 20-24-28
Because the truth is, if The Cross was the only display of God’s goodness throughout all human history, it is still more than enough.
