Ahhh Spring :)…the time of year when you get to shed your winter wardrobe in favor of sandals, skirts, and shorter sleeves! Yet, it is also known as the time of year when you realize your winter skin may not be quite as ready for the spring fashion and sunshine as you are.
Enter my springtime bffs … bronze beauty products.
From lotions to gels to sprays to towelettes, all the options out there can get quite overwhelming, so i’ve narrowed it down to a few of my favorite ways to get perfectly bronzed and beautiful!
In the photos below, I am wearing the following …
The Bronzing Products
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self Tanning Lotion … my all time favorite self tanning lotion because its affordable, easy-to-use, and the bronze color is absolutely beautiful and not orange at all.
Simply shower, shave (and exfoliate if you’re wanting to go the extra mile!). After toweling off and applying your regular moisturizer, apply self tanning lotion all over just like you would regular lotion. I do this in sections. For example, I squeeze a nickel-sized amount into my hand and then apply to my upper leg and then the same amount for my lower leg, and continue repeating this process in sections all over your body. I typically apply one coat of self tanner all over but sometimes will do two if I am wanting to be extra dark. For knees, elbows, ankles, etc. I dilute the self tanner with regular moisturizer to ensure these areas are not splotchy. After applying all over your entire body, wash your hands thoroughly! To self tan the tops of your hands, simply dilute the self tanner with your regular moisturizer and then wipe the insides of your hands and in between your fingers with a wet washcloth. I usually apply my self tanner the night before and sleep in it (in a sweat suit so I don’t get it on my sheets!) and then rinse off the excess in the shower the next morning. It’s that simple … Seriously, don’t overthink self tanner application!
Benefit Sun Beam Golden Bronze Highlighter … the bronzing brother of its supermodel in a bottle sister Benefit’s High Beam, this beautiful highlighter adds a touch of faux glow to your brow bones and cheekbones. This shimmer is especially pretty in photographs!
Jane Iredale Amazing Loose Base Mineral Powder Foundation … this is the best mineral powder out there. Dubbed the “skincare makeup” Jane Iredale products are good for your skin and contain SPF. I especially love the availability of olive-hued powders Jane offers … I use the warm sienna shade.
Sephora Collection Multitasker Brush … I apply my Jane Iredale loose mineral powder foundation with this super soft multi-tasking brush from Sephora.
Jane Iredale So Bronze Powder … Again, the best mineral powders out there, this bronzing powder is the perfect blend of bronze with flecks of gold shimmer.
Victoria’s Secret Rockin’ Body Shimmer Powder … this shimmering body bronzer is great for your neck and décolletage. The skin in this area is especially thin and doesn’t hold color (natural or faux) quite as well as your arms and legs. I use this stuff almost everyday.
I am wearing all of the above products in the photos below …
